Rooted in Community,
Driven by Change
Empowering tribal and marginalized communities through dignity, equity, and sustainable development for a healthier, inclusive future.
A diverse and inclusive community
At GASVS, we embrace the strength of diversity within tribal and marginalized communities. Every individual brings unique experiences, traditions, and aspirations, and we honor these differences by creating spaces of dignity, equity, and opportunity. From mobilizing communities against child marriage to celebrating the resilience of persons with disabilities, our initiatives ensure that people are not just participants but active drivers of change.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. By fostering unity, collaboration, and resilience, we help families and villages grow stronger together. When everyone feels valued and included, communities thrive—paving the way for sustainable development, social equity, and a better future for generations to come.
Our story
Established in 1991 within the Sausar block of Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, Gramin Adivasi Samaj Vikas Sansthan (GASVS) is a distinguished non-profit organization committed to the upliftment of marginalized tribal and rural communities. Rooted in a collective vision for social transformation, GASVS has grown into a professional entity that blends grassroots spirit with organizational strength.
Over the years, our work has touched thousands of lives. From organizing awareness campaigns like Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat (Child Marriage-Free India) to conducting mental health camps across rural health centers, we have built a strong presence across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Our journey includes pioneering models like Home Again, which reunites women with chronic mental illness with their families—such as the emotional case of a mother restored to her children after 11 years.
Our mission
Our mission is to empower marginalized communities to live with dignity, equity, and resilience. We work to eliminate stigma and inequality by:
Supporting persons with physical and mental disabilities through rehabilitation, training, and inclusion.
Running free psychiatric health camps in rural areas, providing treatment and medicines for people struggling with stress, addiction, and depression.
Promoting livelihoods and sustainable agriculture, including farmer-producer companies and women-led enterprises.
Leading awareness campaigns on gender equity, child marriage prevention, and nutrition.
Stories like that of Amar Wadode, a 100% visually impaired youth who went from near illiteracy to becoming a computer teacher with our support, highlight the spirit of our mission—transforming challenges into opportunities.
Our vission
Our vision is to emerge as a leading catalyst for inclusive development and social transformation. We aim to create a future where equitable access to healthcare, education, and livelihoods is not a privilege but a right. GASVS envisions communities where:
Disabilities are not seen as limitations but as different abilities.
Every child grows free from the cycle of malnutrition and early marriage.
Mental health receives the same importance as physical health.
Grassroots innovations power sustainable development for generations to come.
Operational approach
At GASVS, we work through a collaborative, evidence-based approach. Our “partner support model” synergizes efforts with government bodies, philanthropic foundations, and grassroots groups to achieve lasting change.
Our interventions are designed for impact—whether through awareness rallies in schools and villages, capacity-building workshops for women and youth, or health programs in underserved regions. By combining community participation, professional expertise, and institutional partnerships, we ensure that every initiative delivers measurable and sustainable outcomes.
