Shyamrao Dhawle
Founder & CEO, GASVS
Founded in 1991, Gramin Adiwasi Samaj Vikas Sansthan grew from the heart of a man who gave up personal comfort and career promise to serve the forgotten. Educated in social work, he spent decades walking remote tribal regions of Madhya Pradesh, naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra's tribal belts—bringing dignity to adivasis, orphans, persons with disabilities, and those battling mental health struggles.
His leadership guided GASVS through some of its darkest moments, including the COVID-19 pandemic, when the organization became a beacon of hope, delivering vital food, medicine, and care to thousands abandoned by the system.
His passion does not go unnoticed. The Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Shikshan va Arogya Prasarak Mandal honored his tireless social service. The Bhagwan Mahavir Foundation bestowed upon him the esteemed National Mahavir Award for Community Empowerment. And on the global stage, GASVS’s innovative Home Again Project was featured in a prominent forum in New York, highlighting community-driven social transformation.
More than awards, his story is one of heart—the courage to expose injustice, the humility to serve, and the resolve to believe every life matters. “True development must be inclusive and equitable,” he says, a principle felt in every outreach, rescue, and empowerment initiative GASVS leads.
The founder is the brain and heart of GASVS—a living example of how deep compassion and steadfast vision can change countless lives.
“Push boundaries, build hope, and never forget—no one is truly left behind.”
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our organization. From delivering aid to comforting the lonely, their acts of love make all the difference.
